Like anything else in life, when a good product comes along and programs like the BC Hydro rebates are available, there will be many companies popping up to sell a multitude of LED lighting products. Here are some things to be aware of when considering the investment / purchase of LED lighting.

• Verify the specific brand of the product being offered, don't go buy a sales sheet or product box, look on the actual light itself.
• Look for the CSA or cULus approval in Canada or UL in the USA. Without proper approvals the product may not be safe and will certainly not be in the BC Hydro rebate program. The Energy Star approval is also an important requirement for the BC Hydro program.
• Verify the look and feel of the light produced by the light not at ground level but in an actual fixture. You may be surprised to see the light is not as bright as you expected and the colour may change the look and feel of your location in a negative way. There are a new generation of LED lights such as the Sylvania PAR series that are very different in brightness and colour than the other LED products being offered. Compare them before buying.
• What kind of after sales service will you receive? A warranty is only as good as the manufacturer. What if your product fails? Having a well known national brand of a North American Giant such as Sylvania can provide you with confidence that you will have support after the sale on warranties.
• Price, Many sales reps will offer product that will cost you little or nothing after the rebate, but how much will it cost you if the product fails and you can't get support? 
• How will the LED lighting with the multiple point lights (7-12 lights in the head) impact to the look of your space? How will it impact your clients and how they feel while in your establishment? Your staff? Compare the options before buying. We sell both versions of LED, the multi point and the better single cell great looking ones.
